Terms of Use
Last updated: 8 October 2026
In short: be kind, keep your account safe, do not cheat. Support payments and perks are not refundable except where the law says so. The game is fiction and may change or go offline.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of 9ja Life (“we”, “us”). By using 9ja Life, creating an account, playing online or buying anything, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
2. Who can play
- Single-player is open to everyone.
- Accounts, online play, chat and purchases are for people aged 18 or over, or younger people who have a parent or guardian’s permission and who have read these terms with them.
- The ages of characters in the game are fictional and do not decide who may play.
3. Your account
- Choose a username that is not offensive, does not impersonate anyone and is not someone else’s name or brand.
- Keep your password and recovery code private. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think it has been taken over.
- One person, one account. Do not sell, share or trade accounts.
- You can delete your account at any time in the game. We can reset a forgotten password through an administrator if you can show you own the account.
4. How to behave
9ja Life is a shared space. You must not:
- harass, bully, threaten or hate on anyone, including because of tribe, religion, gender, disability or where they come from;
- post sexual, violent or illegal content, or anything involving the sexual exploitation of children (we will report this to the authorities);
- share other people’s private information, or ask children for personal details;
- advertise, spam, scam, or try to get other players’ passwords or money;
- cheat, exploit bugs, use bots, or attack, overload or try to break into the game, the servers or other players’ accounts;
- copy the game’s code or art to make a competing copy, or use the game for anything unlawful.
5. Moderation
Players can block and report each other. We may review reports and the recent messages attached to them, and we may warn, mute, remove or ban players, reset or limit accounts, and remove content, at our discretion and without notice where we think it is needed to keep the game safe. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to a permanent ban, including of the network you used. If you think a decision is wrong, contact us.
6. What you post
You keep ownership of what you write (character names, chat). You give us permission to store it and show it to other players as the game works, and to keep records for safety. Do not post anything you do not have the right to post.
7. Payments, perks and refunds
- Payments are made through Paystack. Prices are in Nigerian naira and shown before you pay. We never see your card details.
- Support payments are voluntary donations and are not refundable.
- Perks (for example the Supporter pack, Golden spray, extra character slots and premium outfit packs) are digital items tied to your account. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and last as long as the game and your account exist.
- Because perks are delivered straight away, they are not refundable except where the law says otherwise, or where we charged you by mistake or failed to deliver. If something went wrong, contact us with your Paystack reference and we will put it right.
- If your account is banned for breaking the rules, your perks end with it and are not refunded.
- If a payment is reversed or charged back, we may remove the perk it paid for.
- If you are under 18, you may only pay with a parent or guardian’s permission.
8. The game as a service
- 9ja Life is free and made by a small team. It is provided “as is”. It may have bugs, go offline, change, or be shut down. Online play may only be available at certain times.
- Characters saved only in your browser can be lost if you clear your browser data or change device. Use the Backup button or an account.
- We may change features, prices and perks. We will not take away something you bought without a good reason, such as a ban or the end of the game, and if we end the game we will try to give notice.
9. It is a game
9ja Life is a work of fiction and simulation. People, events, businesses, prices, army and police scenes, crimes and journeys in the game are imagined and are not real, and are not about, or approved by, any real person, company, government body or armed force. Real names or marks that appear belong to their owners.
10. Our rights
The game, its code, artwork, design and text belong to us or our licensors. You may play it for personal, non-commercial use. Tribes, languages, clothing and places shown belong to all of us; we have tried to show them with respect and welcome corrections.
11. Limits on our responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using or being unable to use the game, from other players’ behaviour, from lost saves, or from third-party services such as Paystack, hosting providers or your internet connection. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited, or our responsibility for fraud or for harm we cause deliberately.
12. Ending things
You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example payments, our rights and the limits above) continue after that.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria. We would like to solve any problem by talking first; please contact us before taking any formal step. If we cannot agree, the courts of Nigeria can decide it, unless the law of your own country gives you the right to use your local courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the game after a change, you accept it. For big changes we will tell players in the game.
